Il a dix lignes et demie de profondeur ; il sert à vérifier la hauteur en papier : pour cet effet la lettre est mise dans l'angle, et le coussinet 4 à côté ; on pose le jeton sur l'extrémité des parties, pour voir si la lettre est de la hauteur du calibre. 3. Solid type-high gauge. The ledges are seven-eights of an inch fromp top to bottom. The letter is put in the angle, and kept in position with the movable ledge (fig. 4). The liner is put along the top of the ledges to show whether the letter is identical in height with them.
